Maria Scotto is a licensed psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Her goals are to help individuals achieve their highest potential, develop healthy coping skills, and live the life they aspire to. She specializes in the treatment of adjustment disorders, anxiety, child behavior problems, codependency, depression, family crisis, grief and loss, life transitions, substance abuse and trauma.
Maria completed her undergraduate work in New York and earned an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook University, graduating with Honors, Summa Cum Laude. She obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology / Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, again graduating with Honors.
Maria provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy in a safe and accepting environment to help clients improve their quality of life and level of functioning. She offers all services in our beautiful Aventura office as well as in-home therapy services for homebound clients.
Maria also offers the DCF- Approved Florida Education and Family Stabilization Course, which is designed to educate, train, and assist divorcing parents in regards to the impact of divorce on children. (You can sign up for the course here:www.floridadivorcing.com)
