Couples Counseling
Couples Counseling at Balanced Life Therapy Group
Connection. Clarity. Growth—Together.
Every relationship has its unique rhythm, strengths, and challenges. At Balanced Life Therapy Group, we offer inclusive, affirming couples counseling for partners of all identities, orientations, and relationship structures. Whether you're dating, married, living together, navigating a non-monogamous relationship, or somewhere in between, our goal is to help you build a stronger, more conscious connection.
Our couples counseling is facilitated by Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) who are trained to support diverse relationship dynamics with cultural humility, compassion, and evidence-based practices.
What to Expect
Couples counseling provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore what’s working in your relationship—and what’s not. With the support of an experienced LMHC, you and your partner(s) will:
Communicate More Effectively: Learn to listen deeply and speak openly, with tools to reduce defensiveness and enhance mutual understanding and communication.
Manage Conflict in Healthier Way: Discover the emotional roots of recurring arguments and learn to move through them with empathy and respect.
Rebuild Trust and Connection: Heal past ruptures, restore emotional safety, and nurture deeper intimacy—on your terms.
Explore Identity and Power Dynamics: Unpack how identity, roles, family history, or cultural context may be influencing your relationship.
Align on Shared Goals: Navigate important life decisions, transitions, or future planning with clarity and cooperation.
An Affirming, Trauma-Informed Approach
We understand that every relationship is shaped by personal histories, cultural context, and lived experiences. Our LMHCs approach this work through a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and culturally sensitive lens, helping clients feel seen, respected, and empowered throughout the process.
We welcome:
Same-gender, queer, trans, and non-binary couples
Polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous relationships
Intercultural and interfaith partnerships
Partners navigating gender transitions or identity exploration
Any relationship configuration rooted in mutual respect and consent
Why Work with an LMHC?
Licensed Mental Health Counselors bring both clinical training and emotional attunement to the therapy space. With experience in modalities such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and relational-cultural theory, our LMHCs tailor the work to support your specific relationship needs and goals.
Let’s Begin, Together
No matter your relationship status or structure, therapy can be a powerful space to reconnect, repair, and grow. If you're ready to take that next step together, we invite you to reach out and schedule a consultation.
